Connect an AI Assistant to LevelUp
LevelUp Connect • Last updated: October 30, 2026
LevelUp Connect lets an AI assistant you already use — such as Claude or ChatGPT — read your tasks, habits, goals, and trackers, and suggest changes. The assistant can never change anything on its own: every suggestion waits in the LevelUp app until you approve it.
On this page
Rolling out gradually. LevelUp Connect is being turned on for accounts in stages and needs an active LevelUp Pro subscription. If the sign-in screen says LevelUp Connect isn’t available for your account yet, it has not reached you yet; nothing is wrong with your account.
1. The server address
Every assistant asks for the same address. Copy it exactly:
https://levelupaiapp.com/mcp
When the assistant connects, it opens a LevelUp page in your browser. You sign in with your LevelUp account, see which assistant is asking and what it wants to do, and choose Allow or Deny. You never give the assistant your password.
2. Connect Claude
Claude on the web or desktop
- Open Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the server address above, and give it a name such as “LevelUp”.
- Choose Connect, sign in to LevelUp when the page opens, and review the request.
- Start a chat and ask about your tasks, habits, or goals.
Custom connectors are available on some Claude plans only; if you don’t see the option, check your plan in Claude.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal, then use /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in:
claude mcp add --transport http levelup https://levelupaiapp.com/mcp
3. Connect ChatGPT
- Open Settings > Apps (called Connectors in some versions) and choose to add a custom app or connector.
- Paste the server address above and choose OAuth sign-in if asked how it authenticates.
- Sign in to LevelUp when the page opens and review the request.
Custom connectors in ChatGPT require a plan that includes them, and may need developer mode to be switched on. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it uses anything that could change data; for LevelUp that is only the “suggest changes” step, which still waits for your approval in the LevelUp app.
Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can use the same address.
4. What an assistant can do
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read your tasks, habits, goals and trackers | List and search your tasks, habits and habit logs, goals, and tracker boards and entries; see your level, XP and streak, and counts of your items. Always granted when you connect. |
| Suggest changes you approve in LevelUp | Send a list of proposed changes, such as new tasks or goals, to your LevelUp app. Nothing happens until you approve it. |
An assistant does not see your journal, story, photos, or social data, and it cannot delete your account, change your subscription, or change anything without your approval. It only receives what it asks for while you are using it.
5. How approval works
- When an assistant suggests changes, LevelUp sends you a notification and the suggestion appears in the app as a change set waiting for review, labeled with the assistant’s name.
- You see exactly what would be added or changed. Approve all of it, approve part of it, or discard it.
- Suggestions are kept for 30 days from when they were sent, whether or not you act on them, and then removed.
- You can always see the connected assistants, and when each last used LevelUp, under Me > Integrations > Connected assistants.
6. How to disconnect
In LevelUp, open Me > Integrations > Connected assistants and revoke the assistant. It can no longer read your data or suggest changes, usually within a minute. You can also remove the connector inside the assistant.
Revoking in LevelUp stops access going forward; the record of the connection stays in the app, under Revoked, until you remove it or delete your account. Revoking cannot remove what the assistant’s provider has already received and keeps under its own terms, such as a conversation you had; delete those in the assistant itself. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Troubleshooting
- The assistant says it is unauthorized, or you see a 401 error: the connection has expired or was revoked. Remove the connector in the assistant and connect again.
- “LevelUp Connect isn’t available for this account yet”: it is still rolling out to your account. Try again later.
- The assistant is told the service is temporarily unavailable: LevelUp Connect may be paused. Try again in a little while.
- It can read data but suggestions never show up in the app: open LevelUp and make sure you are signed in to the same account and that notifications are on; the waiting change set appears when the app is open.
- Some items show up without a title: a few older items may be unreadable to assistants. Open them in LevelUp to check.
- Sign-in page won’t load: use the same browser you started the connection from and don’t block pop-ups for levelupaiapp.com.
